Julip 1984 - 1989

Sally and Annabel quickly settled Julip Horses at its new home in West Dorset. They enjoyed working together and Annabel was relieved to have found a job that meant she could leave London where she had been working as a researcher for an Ad Agency in Soho. Sally and Annabel embarked on new avenues for Spoga AwardJulip. They took a trade stand at the London International Horse Show at London's Olympia every December and did other charity and Christmas Fairs introducing Julip to new customers. They travelled to Cologne and Paris to Fairs, and at Spoga, Cologne 1985 won a Horse & Hound New Product Award for one of their models. They continued to supply Miss Julie Loughnan at Beauchamp Place, now a mecca for Julip enthusiasts worldwide.

With new laws beginning to creep in over toy safety standards it became apparent that if Julip was to survive the methods of production would have to change. Heads were put together and with advice and personal investment the Horse of the Year Range was conceived in 1988 opening new doors for Julip. The traditional method was retained and the latex range became known as the Julip Originals. The modern range was also packaged in order that it could be made available to shop retailers and in 1989 Sally and Annabel took the Horse of the Year range to Olympia once more for their first trade fair at the BTHA Toy Fair.

1989 marked another major milestone in the history of Julip.
