Julip 1989 - 2009

The development of the Horse of the Year Range during the next decade changed the whole face of the business. Gradually Julip Horses were to be seen in prestigious shops such as Hamleys, Harrods and Selfridges along with other fantastic independent toy and tack shops. The expansion of the trade shows and retail fairs expanded. In 1993 the business moved from its current home in Evershot, Dorset to an industrial unit in Yeovil, Somerset after Annabel's parents moved from their home with large outbuildings.

In 1995 Julip celebrated their Golden Anniversary with the launch of the Limited Edition Golden Annniversary Horse and a party at Julip's original home in Beauchamp Place courtesy of Julie Loughnan which was covered by Hello! magazine amongst other publications. Very sadly for Julip, Julie Loughnan retired in 1996 and the Julip shop in Beauchamp Place closed. However Julip was on the move again in 1999 when Annabel managed to find premises back in the Dorset countryside following Sally's retirement from the business in 1998. With only Annabel holding the reins of the business and two small children to raise, it was imperative to find home and business premises together.

In 2001 Julip changed the nature of its business again with a major overhaul of the mail order side of the business. Julip Horses decided to pull out of many large shops with the company no longer able to compete with the huge credit terms, and the massive aggressive marketing of the larger toy companies. The business went onto great success with its association with the International League for the Protection of Horses, the ILPH, and the launch of the ILPH Bob the Cob set. The Julip Originals side of the business is now booming and Julip are very excited with the work they have been doing with the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund, the MDIRF. Julip made yet another move in 2007 when the lease on the last premises expired. We do tend to gallop about a lot! Phew!!
